"Growing up in New York I wish I could have captured, in pictures, the life I lived. I never asked to be born in  this city, nor did I thank my mom for raising me here. As I grew up, the city life kept a constant silhouette of what I was to conceive to be the greatest city in the world. The buildings are high, the ghettos are low, but nowadays it all looks the same. I try to capture places in New York still being 'New York'. This is New York through my eyes: the places that could never be found on a tourist map."- Angelo Ferrer
