My name is Angelo Ferrer. I have been roller-blading for about 16
years. I have seen groups of skaters from when I began, as large as 20 kids that I knew, come and go. Throughout the
years-they slowly disappeared, and soon I became the only one left skating. Something they used to love and swear was
the best thing, whether they grew up or fell into the life of drugs and girls, either way they do not skate anymore. I skate
to honor the spirit they once had while feeding my passion for roller-blading. In the mist of all this, I have
met many people with the same passion and have traveled to see many different outlooks on my sport. I realize that whether
a group of skaters is large or small, in the end it is really about the individual and what he can bring to the sport.
Since the day I was able to leave my block, I set off to explore the
world around me. After walking practically everywhere, I started to discover where the street ended. Now, just because
a road ends, doesn't mean that there is nothing on the other side. The world is huge, and gates, fences and walls
only make me want to explore it furtherer. It is this passion that has brought me to places that once held a million people
on an ordinary day, and now seems to show no signs of life. I can also find myself in places where even the bravest
person would think twice of entering. With all this happening, i have bore witness to pretty bad things. I would
say that i through my experience, i have grown to withstand these horrible images and snap a shot that would capture
the intensity of that moment. I am a proud father and husband to a woman that i love. In trying to juggle a family and everything
above, including my job as an inline skating instructor for New York City public school children, I have got my hand tied.
I though i would make this site to share some of these great moments seen from behind my camera lens.
